Bridge to Terabithia
Students, I am so excited to get started on reading Bridge to Terabithia. We have a five week unit planned with lots of exciting stuff to learn! You will have a chance to make a skit that you will videotape, along with learning how to make a vodcast, participate in a webquest, and write a persuasive essay. We will utilze computers almost daily in this unit!

APU Class!
Social Studies Content Standards, Grade 5:
5.4 Students understand the political, religious, social, and economic institutions that evolved in the colonial era.
2. Identify the major individuals and groups responsible for the founding of the various colonies and the reasons for their founding (e.g., John Smith, Virginia; Roger Williams, Rhode Island; William Penn, Pennsylvania; Lord Baltimore, Maryland; William Bradford, Plymouth; John Winthrop, Massachusetts).
Ok Students! Today we are going to go beyond our textbooks and discover some information on the internet about Captain John Smith and his role in the establishment of Jamestown, Virginia. You will go to the three websites listed here, read the information, and then take the online quiz. The link for the quiz is provided. Now get surfin' (web surfing that is!).
